In our Security Lab, our international team develops services that protect more than 1.4 billion mailboxes worldwide. We are looking for a Software Engineer (m/f/d) to join our team in Hanover (List) and help shape the next generation of email security. You will work primarily with Go and Python, developing services operated at massive scale while collaborating closely with colleagues in Germany, Spain, France, Canada, Japan, North Macedonia, and the United Kingdom. Your Responsibilities Develop and Operate Core Services: Design, develop, test, document, and operate end-to-end backend services for email security, primarily using Go. Build Advanced Threat Detection: Develop scanning pipelines, extract complex artifacts from emails for deep analysis, and design next-generation threat detection features for our enterprise customers. Optimize Large-Scale Platform: Improve the platform regarding performance, scalability, security, and reliability using pragmatic and measurable solutions. Leverage AI-Driven Development: Become part of a modern engineering culture. Together with us, transform traditional workflows into AI-supported processes and build a forward-thinking engineering setup. Work with Core Technologies: Develop and implement solutions using a focused, modern technology stack based primarily on Go, Python, Linux, Redis, and MariaDB, while utilizing AI tools such as Claude. Ensure Highest Quality: Write comprehensive unit, functional, and integration tests to maintain high software standards. Collaborate Globally: Deliver innovative features to production in close collaboration with cross-functional teams across multiple time zones. Participate in code reviews, share knowledge within the team, and continuously contribute to advancing our engineering practices. Your Profile Must-Haves: Technical Background: We are looking for engineers at all experience levels. Whether you are at the beginning of your career or an experienced Senior Engineer, you possess strong software development skills in Go, C, or Python. Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker. Hands-on experience integrating AI-assisted development tools into daily workflows. Background in cybersecurity or a strong personal interest in the field. Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
