About the role

Your tasks • We operate Germany's largest measurement database in the low-voltage network with over 30 million data points daily. With your skills, you help us make our systems fit for 1 billion data points per day • We live by the principle 'you build it, you run it'. For us, DevOps is therefore not just a word, but a fundamental attitude • You design and develop our services, from streaming applications to REST APIs. You are responsible for their availability and performance • You develop architectural concepts and make transparent implementation decisions for our highly data-driven software products • You lead technical projects from the device to the web frontend and can effortlessly communicate and coordinate within your team as well as across team boundaries • You lead projects, share your knowledge, and support junior developers in their tasks and their further development Your profile • In-depth knowledge of common software design and architecture patterns as well as practical experience in implementing these patterns in real applications • Proven ability to lead technical teams by teaching best practices in software development and ensuring high standards in code quality • Sound knowledge of data modeling and backend technologies with the ability to oversee the entire development cycle from conception to deployment • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience in designing and implementing distributed systems that are scalable and robust • You approach tasks pragmatically and can judge when "good" is good enough • Experience with agile development methods, including Scrum or Kanban, and a commitment to iterative and incremental software delivery • You are a team player with strong communication skills and can work effectively in interdisciplinary teams • Relevant experience in software design and development • You have good German language skills (at least level C1) in both spoken and written form What we offer you • A flexible hybrid working model: 2 days in our modern office in Karlsruhe, the rest freely selectable • Subsidy for your office furniture in the home office • Possibility for individual scheduling of your working hours (40h/week) • Clear tasks and transparent development opportunities through job OKRs • Open and constructive exchange in the team through structured team days on site • Benefits such as WELLPASS, mobility budget, discount for public transport monthly ticket, or job bike • Fair salary plus profit sharing, as well as 30 days of vacation • Subsidies for your pension provision and capital-forming benefits About us At SMIGHT, we actively contribute to the energy transition every day by driving the digitalization of distribution networks with our IoT solution SMIGHT Grid.
