To further strengthen our team, we are currently looking for a Software Engineer Cobol (m/f/x) to work at our client in Mechelen. • This position can be filled with both a permanent contract (employee status) and a freelance contract • Duration: Long term • Region: Mechelen • Fulltime Responsibilities: • Developing Cobol programs within an internal B2B software package • Working on projects regarding, among other things, invoicing, article data, article prices, and customer management • Developing, testing, and implementing solutions • Integrating applications with other systems and platforms • Analyzing and resolving incidents and technical problems and following up on processes in collaboration with the helpdesk • Collaborating on integrations between a COBOL-based system and supply chain applications (PL1 and Java) • Working in an environment with Red Hat Linux (VMware), Oracle 11 database, ACUCOBOL 85, EasyMap, Java SDK, Apache Ant (HTTP/SOAP XML), and IBM WebSphere Application Server Profile • At least 5 years of experience as a Cobol Software Engineer • Experience with Oracle databases is a plus • Analytical, solution-oriented, and eager to learn • Communicative and team-oriented • Good knowledge of Dutch and English, French is a plus Remuneration: to be negotiated.
