About the role
• As a Software Architect, you develop technical proposals for the architecture in a tech stack based on Java and Angular. Your job is varied and ranges from technical expertise on specific questions to identifying high-level solutions for complex system implementations. • You are responsible for designing and monitoring the software architecture. You understand the needs and provide stable application architectures, which you document using modeling tools. • As a technical team lead, you organize the development team and follow the developers in their daily work. You are responsible for code quality and perform code reviews. Your team is organized in an Agile way. • You work closely with software developers, functional analysts, and Middleware specialists to achieve successful implementations. You are responsible for promoting good practices in design and development. • You are part of the Solution and Application Architect community at Smals. In that community and via tools like Confluence, you share your knowledge and experiences with your fellow architects. • You have at least four years of experience in a Java development environment and hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science. • You have broad knowledge of development methods and standards, architecture, and technologies such as Java, Angular, SpringBoot, JBoss (JEE), PostgreSQL, Oracle, JMS, OpenShift, and RESTful. • You can develop a technical implementation plan and bring this plan to a successful conclusion within the allocated deadlines. • You have experience with modeling techniques and tools (e.g., ArchiMate, Enterprise Architect, UML, C4...). • Your leadership, analytical view, and problem-solving ability are crucial qualities for success. They enable you to lead and support your team and offer stable solutions to our clients within social security and healthcare. • You are looking for a versatile and challenging role in which your creativity and sense of responsibility can be expressed. • You speak Dutch fluently and have passive knowledge of French. You are able to draft technical documents in English. • You like to learn, because Smals invests heavily in your training. • Do you have basic knowledge of data protection and GDPR?
