Senior software engineer - Python, AI & architecture - Freelance (M/F)

About the role

Daily rate (TJM): Max daily rate excl. tax 613 € (excluding potential mission expenses, to be discussed with the client) Context: As part of the development of a data and artificial intelligence platform already used in production by several thousand users, our client, a fast-growing banking player, wishes to strengthen its technical team. The platform allows for the development and execution of data and AI workflows, the use of agents and RAG systems, the manipulation of multiple language models, and the provision of dedicated work environments for users. The consultant will intervene in a phase of progressive opening of the platform to external clients, with significant challenges regarding scalability, robustness, security, performance, and maintainability. Main missions: - Design and develop software components for the platform. - Develop backend services in Python, notably with Django or equivalent frameworks. - Design and evolve web applications in React and TypeScript. - Design APIs and integrations with data and AI components. - Participate in the development of agentic systems and orchestrated workflows. - Work on LangGraph, RAG, knowledge bases, MCP, and LLM application evaluation. - Contribute to the integration of multiple language models via a multi-model gateway. - Improve the scalability and reliability of the platform. - Challenge existing architectures, technical choices, and development practices. - Design robust, maintainable solutions adapted for production. - Develop tests, technical documentation, and production deployment procedures. - Contribute to the observability, security, and governance of components. - Collaborate with Software, Data, AI, and Research teams. - Ensure strong hands-on involvement in the development and delivery of components. Expected deliverables: - Developed and deployed software components and backend services. - APIs and integrations with Data and AI building blocks. - Contributions to distributed architectures and platform evolutions. - Agentic workflows, RAG systems, and LLM integrations. - Automated tests and technical documentation. - Solutions and production deployment procedures. - Contributions to observability, security, and monitoring mechanisms. - Recommendations for the evolution and improvement of existing architectures. Profile sought: - Confirmed experience in Software Engineering, Backend, or Platform Engineering. - Excellent mastery of Python. - Mastery of Django, FastAPI, or a comparable backend framework. - Experience in web application and API development. - Good mastery of React and TypeScript. - Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and Cloud environments. - Mastery of testing practices, CI/CD, software quality, and monitoring. - Concrete experience with artificial intelligence systems in production. - Good knowledge of LLMs, RAG, embeddings, and agentic orchestration. - Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or equivalent technology. - Ability to design, challenge, and evolve distributed architectures. - Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary Software, Data, AI, and Research teams. - Fluent professional English.
