Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

About the role

Do you get goosebumps from bad code, but your heart only really races when technology and business value mesh perfectly? We are looking for Senior Software Engineers in the field of JVM, Cloud & Customer Excellence (m/f/d) who love software craftsmanship but see customer success as the ultimate goal. With us, you are not an anonymous coder, but a technical ambassador and problem solver. Your home port is our location in Dortmund. We love flexible working, but we value proximity. We are looking for someone who lives in the greater Dortmund area to drop by the office regularly for sprints, brainstorming sessions, or a cold drink - without any travel stress. What you will work on with us - AI-Enhanced Development: We rely heavily on Claude and state-of-the-art LLMs to accelerate our workflow. For you, AI pair programming is not "magic," but a strategic tool. You use Claude & Co. confidently for architectural impulses, refactoring, and efficient coding without losing critical distance and final quality control. - Technological Sovereignty: Java and Spring Boot are often the set standard for our clients - and you master them blindly. At the same time, you are ready to proactively introduce modern alternatives like Kotlin, Quarkus, or Ktor if they advance the project and fit into the client's strategy. - End-to-End & DevOps: "Works on my machine" does not exist for you. You accompany the code from architecture to stable operation in the cloud (preferably Azure). CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code are tools for you to ensure delivery capability for the client. What you should bring - Many years of experience in professional software development in the JVM environment. You know enterprise standards (Spring) as well as modern, lightweight approaches. - Experience with cloud-native architectures (ideally Azure) and a deep understanding of DevOps processes. - You are a team player, even in mixed structures, and working in heterogeneous teams is a matter of course for you. Integrating into foreign environments and communicating there at eye level is not an obstacle for you, but the key to success. - You think in MVPs and feedback loops. You know when perfectionism is appropriate and when a pragmatic approach gets the client to their goal faster. - You know that "the customer is king," you provide technically sound advice, but you also accept the framework conditions and legacy structures of the client to make the best of them. - You feel at home in the backend, but have no fear of modern frontends (TypeScript, Angular, React) or desktop solutions via Electron. - You can explain complex issues in an understandable way - internally and to the client in German (C1 level) as well as English. Nice to have - Experience in software architecture - Knowledge of security or API design (e.g., GraphQL) - Initial experience in the integration of AI/ML services Home office: Scope: By agreement Remuneration: negotiable.
