Experienced Data Engineer - PostgreSQL / ETL / Data Migration (M/F)

About the role

As part of an IT transformation project already underway at our client's site, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer capable of quickly taking over an ongoing data migration and recovery project for a 3-month renewable period. The mission focuses on the recovery of historical data from various entities and their integration into a new information system. The data model, initial import procedures, and normalization rules are already in place. The objective is now to continue and make the migrations reliable, with a high level of requirement regarding data quality. Your missions You will intervene in particular on: - The recovery and analysis of the existing system: data model, scripts, processes, imports already carried out, and normalization rules; - The definition and management of an action plan to continue the migrations; - The extraction, transformation, and loading of data into a PostgreSQL database; - The development and reliability of scripts and automation tools; - The implementation of replayable and traceable processes, with checkpoint management and rollback possibilities; - Data quality control: normalization, deduplication, consistency, and completeness; - Checks before and after each import; - Progress monitoring and production of reports; - Documentation of procedures, applied rules, and implemented processes. The mission also has an important relational dimension. You will be in direct contact with the various entities concerned to prepare imports, analyze anomalies, and support sometimes non-technical stakeholders in validating and ensuring the reliability of their data. You will work in close collaboration with the development team and participate in the project team's agile rituals. PROFILE SOUGHT We are looking above all for an experienced, autonomous, and quickly operational profile, having already led end-to-end data migrations or recoveries. A profile with a minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, including at least one end-to-end data migration or recovery. Profiles without experience in end-to-end data migration or recovery will not be considered. Expected skills: - Very good command of PostgreSQL and advanced SQL; - Significant experience in data migration or recovery from heterogeneous sources (Excel files, CRM, business tools, various exports); - Mastery of Data Quality issues: normalization, deduplication, consistency, and completeness checks; - Experience in the industrialization of processes: logging, replayability, traceability, error management, and rollback; - Mastery of Python or an equivalent scripting language; - Good understanding of data security and personal data privacy issues (GDPR); - Ability to document work and produce clear reporting (Power BI or equivalent); - Practice of agile methods (Scrum, Kanban); - Good interpersonal skills and ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders. Knowledge of dbt, Airflow, or an equivalent tool is a plus. Experience with a market CRM (notably Eudonet), notions of the Symfony / Doctrine ecosystem, or knowledge of network organizations (federations, multi-site structures, associations) will also be appreciated.
